 A lack of delivery report does not in any way indicate a non delivery or a failed message. It simply means we have not received a delivery report from the relevant network.

 Delivered" will normally appear only for messages to another wireless phone, and it simply means it was delivered to the device. It does Not mean the recipient has opened it, merely that it was delivered.

 "Delivered" means the iDevice received the message. If "Send Read Receipts" is enabled by the recipient, then it will change to "Read" once it's actually been seen by them.
